Welcome to PinnaCole Mininature Pinschers.  We are Melissa and Mike Cole and we got our start with Min Pins about 10 years ago.  The first time I laid eyes on this breed I was in love! We started out with our first boy, Joey and then soon came our first girl, Lucy. We began breeding. No, we didn’t really know what we were doing, but we wanted to learn.  I read books on breeding, and whatever I could find on Miniature Pinschers. We started to study the standard, not fully understanding it. We soon acquired a houseful of Min Pins.

     In our our quest for quality we looked for “champions”. I scanned the internet, looking at websites of breeders and asked questions about showing and breeding. We even bought a few Min Pins we thought were show quality, only to be disappointed.  Then I talked to Sheree’ Leger, and she patiently helped me to understand more and more about the world of dog showing. I was excited and unsure at the same time. I was eager to learn, but I didn’t know if this was something I could do. I dragged Mike to the dogs shows with me, and we tried to absorb as much as we could take in about the breed and the show ring. Sheree’ introduced me to Hap McCallum of Jomax Miniature Pinschers, and from her we purchased our first “real” show dog! We were “off the races”, sort of speak. I proudly fumbled my way around the show ring with “Robbie”,  (now known as Ch. Jomax Rockin Red Robin).  What a thrill it was to finish my first show dog, in less than a year! Mike was hooked right along with me and soon had his own show dog!

     We gradually placed all our “pet” dogs and are now focused on building a quality breeding program for show dogs. So, we are just getting started, but with all the help we received from our fellow Min Pin exhibitors and especially my good friend Sheree’ Leger, we are off to a great start and enjoying every minute of it!
